Dzhama Rum’s label concept was inspired by the desire of representing a design out of the schemes, a unique packaging for a unique brand from Madagascar, owned by Vidzar. Designed by the French Studio Boamin collaboration with Alex Arzuman Studio this labels clearly wants us to be carried away on the beautiful island of Madagascar, surrounded by vivid colors and exploding nature, by exotic animals and birds. The illustrations on the label are handmade and all elements represented on it are endemic of the island. Moreover, the particular die-cutting shape as well as the bottleneck, dipped in a dark green organic wax, want to convey a dark, mysterious sensation of tropical forests, where the humankind has no access and nature reigns. How many adventurers have lost themselves in front of this dancing curtain of vegetation that can drive you crazy? A representation of alcoholic madness and beauty.
This concept project was realized and printed by Plein Sud Étiquettes on Arconvert’s Tintoretto Gesso, a felt-marked natural paper, combined with the Ultra WS treatment on the front label, which avoids the formation of wrinkles and reduces the absorption of water on the surface of the paper. The paper texture together with this special technology enhances the lush colours of Madagascar’s vegetation as well as the gold embellishments and preserves them from humidity and ice, for long lasting premium labels.
